WHY SHOULD I DETOX MY MIND?
Why you ask? Well it’s because your mind affects everything. Your mind is responsible for your joy, happiness, motivation, procrastination, bad habits, your weight, your relationships; you name it, and your mind affects it. It’s like I always say, “Get your mind right, and everything else will fall into place.” But where do we get emotional training?
Certainly not in school or work, and for most of us certainly not at home. In-fact, for many of us we have to seek it out on our own, but it’s when we seek it out that usually is the problem. Typically someone starts searching for answers only after a problem has occurred. There is an old saying that says we only change for 2 reasons: you either learn enough where you want to, or you hurt enough where you have too. In most cases we seek out tools and help only after the pain is unbearable. Then we go back to “normal” until the cycle starts again.
Here’s my theory: Get off the crazy train and never stop learning. Adopt what we call a beginners mind towards life, and open yourself up to new opportunities for growth. If you are constantly in a state of learning, you will keep learning enough where you want to grow and the pain of ‘having too’ never gets to an unbearable point. Sounds brilliant to me!
Well, being in a constant state of learning requires a clear and steady mind. Without it, our emotions will keep us in a place of survival where we can never reach a thriving place. We must first “get out of the way so that you can get on with your life!”
